Born from our desire to bring back that childhood curiosity, we created Akin when we couldn't find fun places to try new stuff without feeling awkward. So we rolled up our sleeves and hunted down NYC's coolest community spots where you can pick up creative skills and meet your kind of people. Akin is here to connect you with your next hobby obsession and make jumping into something new way less scary. We've been there too!
Joy is easy to find if you know where to look!
But between endless Google searches, outdated websites, and Instagram rabbit holes, it shouldn't be this difficult! That's why we built akin - to make the journey simpler for everyone who comes after us.
We've already helped hundreds of people discover spaces where they feel comfortable learning, creating, and connecting. Some have found lifelong friends, others have launched creative careers, and many have simply rediscovered the joy of making something with their hands.
